**Typical savings:** a 10-person team paying for monday.com Standard ($14 per seat/month) and ClickUp Core ($12 per user/month) spends $260 a month on two work-management tools. Keeping only monday.com Standard saves $120/month ($1,440 a year). Keeping only ClickUp Core saves $140/month ($1,680 a year). At the upper tier, monday.com Pro ($24 per seat/month) and ClickUp Business ($25 per user/month) together cost $490 a month for 10 people. Keeping only Pro saves $250/month ($3,000 a year), and keeping only Business saves $240/month ($2,880 a year).

Teams usually end up paying for both when one department picked monday.com and another picked ClickUp, and nobody consolidated. Both are board- and task-based work management tools priced per person, so the overlap is large. The useful question is which one your team's real boards, automations and dashboards live in.

## The plans side by side

| monday.com plan | Price per seat | ClickUp plan | Price per user |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 (up to 2 seats, 3 boards) | Free Forever | $0 (60 MB storage) |
| Basic | $12/month | — | — |
| Standard | $14/month | Core | $12/month |
| Pro | $24/month | Business | $25/month |
| — | — | Max | $120/month |
| Enterprise | Contact sales | Enterprise | Contact sales |

All prices are US month-to-month. They come from our [monday.com page](/tools/monday) (monday.com/pricing, US, checked on 2026-10-28) and our [ClickUp page](/tools/clickup) (clickup.com/pricing, checked on 2026-10-28). The rows pair plans by what they unlock, not by price alone: monday.com Standard and ClickUp Core are the first tiers with Gantt views and automations, and monday.com Pro and ClickUp Business are the next step up.

monday.com sells seats in bundles, and its paid plans start at 3 seats. The 10-person totals here use the 10-seat bundle its US pricing page shows by default ($140/month for Standard, $240/month for Pro). If your team is a different size, check the bundle you'd actually be billed for.

Both vendors also show lower prices for yearly billing. We compare month-to-month only. On 2026-10-28, monday.com's yearly Standard and Pro totals waived the AI-credit charge as a special offer with no expiry shown, so our catalog records only their month-to-month prices.

ClickUp Max ($120 per user/month) is a much larger AI allowance on top of Enterprise controls, not a bigger project plan. Compare it only if your team runs through ClickUp Brain credits every month.

## What each tier unlocks

| | monday.com | ClickUp |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Up to 2 seats and 3 boards | Unlimited free members and tasks, 60 MB storage, a 500-credit AI trial |
| Entry paid | Basic: unlimited items and free viewers | Core: unlimited storage, custom fields, unlimited forms and Gantt charts, 1K automations a month |
| Main plan | Standard: Timeline and Gantt views, automations and integrations (250 actions a month) | Core (above) |
| Upper tier | Pro: private boards and docs, time tracking, 25,000 automation actions a month | Business: advanced dashboards, webhooks and automation integrations, resource management and timesheets, 10K automations a month |

Features are from the same catalog pages. The two vendors count automation usage differently (monday.com in actions, ClickUp in automations), so the monthly limits aren't directly comparable. Check your current usage in each account.

## Keep monday.com when

- Your team works mostly in boards that look like spreadsheets, and the dashboards built on them are what managers read.
- Most people only need to view work. monday.com lists unlimited free viewers from the Basic plan.
- The automations and integrations that feed your boards are already set up there. Our catalog notes these have to be rebuilt in any other tool.

## Keep ClickUp when

- Docs and chat sit next to tasks and people actually use them. Moving those together into monday.com is extra work.
- You rely on custom fields, task types and statuses configured around your process.
- You want Gantt views and automations at the lowest per-person price. ClickUp Core includes both at $12 per user, against $14 per seat for monday.com Standard.

## Before you cancel either one

- **monday.com:** export each board to Excel. Write down every automation, integration and dashboard before you cancel, because exports don't carry them over.
- **ClickUp:** tasks and docs can be moved out, but automations, dashboards, custom fields and integrations have to be rebuilt elsewhere. A Workspace that combines tasks, docs and chat takes longer to move than a single-purpose tool.
- Run both side by side for one normal work cycle before cancelling. Check that recurring work, reminders and reports still reach the right people.
