# Notion vs ClickUp: what each plan costs per seat, and which one to keep

> Notion Plus and Business set against ClickUp Core and Business on verified US month-to-month prices, with what each tier unlocks, where the AI is included, and how much a 10-person team saves by keeping one.

**Typical savings:** a 10-person team paying for Notion Plus ($12 per seat/month) and ClickUp Core ($12 per user/month) spends $240 a month on two workspaces. Keeping only one of them saves $120/month ($1,440 a year). At the upper tier, Notion Business ($24 per seat/month) and ClickUp Business ($25 per user/month) together cost $490 a month for 10 people. Keeping only Notion Business saves $250/month ($3,000 a year), and keeping only ClickUp Business saves $240/month ($2,880 a year).

Teams often pay for both because Notion started as the wiki and docs tool and ClickUp as the task tracker, and then each grew into the other's job: Notion's pricing page lists databases with subtasks, dependencies and custom properties, and ClickUp has docs and chat next to tasks. The useful question is whether your team's real work lives in documents with some tasks attached, or in tasks with some documents attached.

## The plans side by side

| Notion plan | Price per seat | ClickUp plan | Price per user |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Free Forever | $0 (60 MB storage) |
| Plus | $12/month | Core | $12/month |
| Business | $24/month | Business | $25/month |
| — | — | Max | $120/month |
| Enterprise | Contact sales | Enterprise | Contact sales |

All prices are US month-to-month. They come from our [Notion page](/tools/notion) (notion.com/pricing, US, checked on 2026-10-14 and re-read on 2026-10-29) and our [ClickUp page](/tools/clickup) (clickup.com/pricing, checked on 2026-10-28). The rows pair the first paid tier and the next tier up on each side.

ClickUp's pricing FAQ says an upgrade applies to the whole Workspace, so every member is billed, not only the people who need the paid features. Count your full member list when you check the 10-person totals above against your own team.

Both vendors also show lower prices for yearly billing. We compare month-to-month only. Neither vendor publishes an Enterprise price, so we don't show one. ClickUp Max ($120 per user/month) is a much larger AI allowance on top of Enterprise controls, so Notion has no equivalent row.

## Where the AI is included

This is the biggest difference between the two price ladders. Notion Plus includes only a trial of Notion AI; Notion Agent, AI Meeting Notes and Enterprise Search (labelled Beta) are included from Business. ClickUp's ladder works the same way. Core is labelled "ClickUp Brain² Trial" and "Trial Premium Model Usage" on clickup.com/pricing, with 1K pooled AI credits per user a month. Business is the first plan listed with ClickUp Brain² and Premium Models (not a trial), unlimited Standard Models and 1.5K pooled credits per user a month. So on both sides the lower paid tier gets a trial of the AI and the Business tier gets the ongoing version. If AI matters to your team, compare Notion Business with ClickUp Business, not Plus with Core.

## What each tier unlocks

| | Notion | ClickUp |

| Free | 7-day page history, file uploads up to 5 MB, basic forms, a trial of Notion AI | Unlimited free members and tasks, 60 MB storage |
| First paid tier | Plus: 30-day page history, file uploads up to 5 GB, custom forms, custom database automations, charts, a trial of Notion AI | Core: unlimited storage, custom fields, unlimited forms and Gantt charts, 1K automations a month |
| Next tier | Business: Notion Agent, AI Meeting Notes, Enterprise Search (Beta), 90-day page history, SAML SSO, private teamspaces, granular database permissions | Business: advanced dashboards, webhooks and automation integrations, resource management and timesheets, 10K automations a month |

Features are from the same catalog pages and the vendors' US pricing pages.

## Keep Notion when

- Your wiki, docs and meeting notes are the centre of the team's work, and tasks are a database alongside them.
- Linked pages, database relations and views are how the team runs. Our catalog notes these don't export cleanly to other tools.
- You want AI meeting notes and AI search over your own workspace, which Notion bundles on Business.

## Keep ClickUp when

- Work is mostly tasks with owners, statuses and due dates, and docs are attached to them.
- You rely on Gantt charts, custom fields, task types and automations configured around your process. Our catalog notes Notion project tracking takes more setup and has basic workload planning.
- You use advanced dashboards, resource management or timesheets on Business.

## Before you cancel either one

- **Notion:** pages export to Markdown, HTML and PDF, and databases export to CSV. Relations, rollups, views and automations don't survive the export, so plan to rebuild them.
- **ClickUp:** tasks and docs can be moved out, but automations, dashboards, custom fields and integrations have to be rebuilt elsewhere. A Workspace that combines tasks, docs and chat takes longer to move than a single-purpose tool.
- Run both side by side for one normal work cycle before cancelling. Check that recurring work, reminders and the pages people search for every week still have a home.
