Zapier alternatives: Make and n8n compared on verified prices
Looking for a Zapier alternative? How Make and n8n charge, their verified US prices, and what you give up by leaving Zapier.
What we can say about savings: Zapier publishes only "starting from" prices for Pro and Team, which scale with task volume, so we don't quote a Zapier figure or a saving. To work out your own, compare your current Zapier bill with these verified alternatives. Make Core is $12/month billed annually for 10,000 credits. n8n Starter (Cloud) is $20/month billed annually for 2,500 workflow executions. n8n's self-hosted Community Edition has no software fee; you pay for your own server and maintenance.
How each one charges
- Zapier counts tasks: each completed action step. The Free plan has 100 tasks a month and two-step Zaps only.
- Make counts credits. Most module actions use one credit, and prices rise with the credit tier.
- n8n counts workflow executions. One run counts once however many steps it has, so long multi-step workflows go further.

How to switch
The Zapier to n8n workflow covers inventorying your Zaps, rebuilding them, running both side by side, and cutting over. If some Zaps must stay, Zapier's Free plan covers two-step Zaps up to 100 tasks a month.
When to stay on Zapier
Stay if non-technical teammates build and own the automations, if you rely on apps only Zapier connects to, or if nobody wants to maintain a self-hosted server.
