Terms of use

Last updated 2026-11-03. OneLessTool is run by ZC Ventures.

These terms cover the OneLessTool website, REST API, MCP server and dataset (together, “the service”). By using the service, including through an AI assistant connected to our MCP server, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

What the service is

OneLessTool helps you work out which software subscriptions you could replace with tools you already own. It shows plan prices with their sources, replacement workflows and estimated savings. It is information, not financial, legal or purchasing advice. OneLessTool never cancels, changes or buys a subscription for you.

Check before you cancel

  • Prices and plans come from vendors' own pages and change without notice. Each price shows whether and when it was verified. A missing price means unknown, not free.
  • Savings are estimates based on what you enter. Confirm the price, your contract terms and that the replacement works for you before you cancel anything.
  • Every workflow lists what it can't do and a checklist to test it. Use them.

If you find a wrong price or fact, please tell us. See how we calculate savings for the method.

Using the API and MCP server

The API and MCP server are free and need no key. In return:

  • Stay within the rate limits, and don't try to get around them.
  • Don't use the service to break the law, harm others, or attack, overload or probe our systems.
  • Don't present our data as verified when its evidence status says otherwise.

We may change, limit or stop the API or MCP server, or block traffic that breaks these terms. We'll try to give notice on the documentation pages for planned changes.

Our data and content

The price dataset at /data is licensed under CC BY 4.0: you may reuse it with credit to “OneLessTool, onelesstool.com”. All other site content, including guides and workflows, belongs to OneLessTool; you may quote it with a link back. Product names and logos belong to their owners. OneLessTool isn't affiliated with or endorsed by the vendors it covers, and vendors can't pay for placement.

What you give us

You keep ownership of what you enter, such as your stack and costs. You let us process it to run the service, as the privacy policy describes. If you opt in to a public summary of a saved report, you let us show that de-identified summary.

Accounts and paid plans

Accounts and paid plans are not switched on yet. When they are, you're responsible for activity on your account, and any paid plan will show its price, billing period and cancellation terms before you pay.

No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranty that it is accurate, complete, uninterrupted or fit for a particular purpose.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions you make based on the service, including cancelling or keeping a subscription. Our total liability for any claim about the free service is limited to US$25. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and continuing to use the service after that means you accept the update. You can stop using the service at any time.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States.
