Google Meet
Google Meet runs in the browser and the Gmail, Calendar and mobile apps. With a personal Google Account anyone can host meetings for up to 100 participants at no cost, with group meetings capped at 60 minutes and one-on-ones at 24 hours. Longer and larger meetings, recording, attendance tracking, live streaming and admin controls come with Google Workspace editions (participant limits rise from 100 on Business Starter to 150 on Business Standard and 500 on Business Plus) or with Google Workspace Individual and some Google One / Google AI plans. Google does not sell a standalone Meet seat.

Plans & pricing
No standalone paid Google Meet seat is offered. The Meet page sends paid buyers to Google Workspace plans for organizations or Google Workspace Individual; premium Meet features are also on certain Google One plans. Paid Meet therefore costs whatever the Google Workspace edition costs: see the google-workspace entry for its verified prices. Workspace Individual and Google One prices were not verified here (workspace.google.com/pricing showed THB from this box's Bangkok egress on 2026-11-01), so no paid Meet plan is listed rather than guessing a USD price.

Fit and scores (1–5) are editorial judgements. How we score
Why people pay for it
- Group meetings longer than 60 minutes
- Recording, noise cancellation and attendance tracking (via Google Workspace)
- Admin controls and larger meetings (via Google Workspace)
Who should keep paying
The honest case for Google Meet. If these matter to you, don't switch.
- Meet links generated automatically on Google Calendar invites
- Teams that already pay for Google Workspace get Meet at no extra cost
Risks to know about
- lowfunctionality loss
Without a paid Google Workspace edition, group meetings end at 60 minutes and recording is unavailable.
- data portability: easy
Editorial: recordings and transcripts are saved to Google Drive as ordinary files; meeting links live in Google Calendar events.
