DocuSign eSignature

Docusign eSignature lets you upload a document, place fields and send it for signature with reminders and a certificate of completion. Plans are mainly limited by envelopes (documents sent). Personal is one user with 5 envelopes a month. Standard and Business Pro include 100 envelopes per user per year on annual plans; Business Pro adds bulk send, PowerForms, web forms and payment collection. Docusign also sells broader IAM plans with unlimited envelopes and AI.

Why people pay for it

  • Widely recognised and trusted by signers and legal teams
  • Audit trails and certificates of completion
  • Shared templates, branding and delegated signing for teams
  • Bulk send, PowerForms and payment collection on Business Pro
  • Large integration ecosystem

Reasons to keep paying

The honest case for DocuSign eSignature. If these matter to you, don't switch.

  • Some counterparties and industries expect or require Docusign specifically
  • Archive of completed agreements with audit certificates
  • Templates and integrations embedded in sales and HR workflows

Risks to know about

  • mediumcompliance

Confirm a replacement meets the same legal and audit requirements for your contracts and jurisdiction.

  • lowfunctionality loss

Lower-cost tools may lack bulk send, PowerForms or payment collection.

  • lowdata portability

Download your completed agreement archive before cancelling.

  • data portability: easy

Completed envelopes download as PDFs with certificates of completion. Templates and integrations must be rebuilt in another e-signature tool.
