Adobe Express

Adobe Express is a browser and mobile design editor aimed at non-designers, similar to Canva. The free plan covers basic templates and editing; Premium adds premium content, brand kits, resize, background removal and more generative credits. Express Premium features are also included with some Creative Cloud and Acrobat plans, so many people already have it.

Plans & pricing

Adobe shows local prices by location; our fetcher only saw Australian-dollar prices, so US$ prices are not recorded. Express Premium is included in Creative Cloud Pro and some Acrobat and Firefly plans. Teams requires at least 2 seats on an annual commitment.

Fit and scores (1–5) are editorial judgements. How we score

Why people pay for it

  • Premium templates, stock photos and fonts
  • Background removal and one-click resize
  • Firefly generative AI with commercial-use positioning
  • Brand kits and locked templates for teams
  • Already bundled with some Creative Cloud plans

Reasons to keep paying

The honest case for Adobe Express. If these matter to you, don't switch.

  • Bundled with Creative Cloud Pro, so it may cost nothing extra
  • Works with Photoshop and Illustrator files and Creative Cloud Libraries
  • Firefly's licensing position appeals to cautious brands

Risks to know about

  • mediumvendor lock in

Editable designs and brand templates only work inside Express.

  • lowfunctionality loss

Downgrading removes premium assets, brand kits and background removal.

  • data portability: moderate

Exports PNG, JPG, PDF and MP4. Editable designs stay in Express; templates must be rebuilt in another tool.
