Grok
Grok is the AI assistant from SpaceXAI (formerly xAI), available on grok.com, in the X app and through an API. It covers chat, voice, image and video generation (Imagine) and app building (Build). In late 2026 the company began selling unified Plus, Premium, Super and Ultra tiers that share one AI usage pool across Grok, X and the Cursor coding editor. Standalone SuperGrok plans still appear on grok.com, but their prices could not be confirmed in this review.

Plans & pricing
The unified tiers were read on cursor.com/pricing, which SpaceXAI now uses for combined Grok, X and Cursor plans. Grok.com and x.ai blocked or did not render prices. Press reports from early October 2026 described this restructure as upcoming, so availability may still be rolling out. Business and enterprise Grok pricing was not checked.

Fit and scores (1–5) are editorial judgements. How we score
Why people pay for it
- Higher Grok limits and access to the latest Grok models
- Image and video generation through Grok Imagine
- Real-time context from posts on X
- One bundle that also covers X Premium perks and Cursor usage
- Grok Bot agent on Premium and above
Reasons to keep paying
The honest case for Grok. If these matter to you, don't switch.
- Native access to live X posts and trends, which other assistants see only indirectly
- Bundle value if you already pay for X Premium and use Cursor
- Permissive creative image and video generation compared with some rivals
Risks to know about
- mediumsensitive data
Training and data-use terms for Grok consumer plans were not confirmed in this review. Avoid sharing confidential data until you check settings.
- mediumfunctionality loss
Cancelling a unified tier also removes X Premium perks and Cursor usage tied to the same pool.
- mediumreliability
Pricing and plan structure changed in late 2026 and may change again soon.
- lowip licensing
Check commercial-use and likeness rules before publishing AI images or video.
- data portability: moderate
Chats and generated media can be downloaded individually. Bundled X and Cursor features complicate cancellation because they are tied to the same subscription.
