Prospecting & data · by Apollo.io
Apollo.io
Apollo combines a large B2B contact and company database (the vendor claims 240M contacts and 30M companies) with prospecting tools: search filters, email and phone reveals, enrichment, email sequences, a dialer on higher plans, and CRM sync. Paid plans are priced per user, and data actions draw on a credit pool shared by the team. Credits reset each billing cycle and do not roll over. A free plan exists for light use.

Plans & pricing
The pricing page lists Free, Basic, Professional and Custom. An Apollo article from September 2026 also names an Organization plan at $119/user/month (3-user minimum); it was not shown on the pricing page we fetched, so it is not listed here. Credits are pooled across the team, granted at the start of each billing cycle, and do not roll over; add-on credits renew each cycle until removed. Phone reveals and waterfall enrichment use more credits than email reveals.

Fit and scores (1–5) are editorial judgements. How we score
Why people pay for it
- One affordable tool that both finds contacts and sends sequences.
- Large searchable database with filters for title, industry, size and technology.
- Email and phone reveals plus CRM enrichment for Salesforce and HubSpot.
- Dialer and call recording on higher plans.
- Cheaper entry point than enterprise data vendors.
Reasons to keep paying
The honest case for Apollo.io. If these matter to you, don't switch.
- A maintained, verified B2B contact database; an AI assistant cannot reliably produce real, current business emails and phone numbers.
- Database search plus sequencing in one place, so a small team avoids buying two products.
- Ongoing enrichment of CRM records as people change jobs.
Risks to know about
- highcompliance
Cold email to purchased or looked-up contacts must follow CAN-SPAM, GDPR/PECR and CASL; GDPR applies to EU/UK data subjects regardless of the sender's location.
- mediumreliability
Bounce rates rise if data is stale; verify before large sends to protect domain reputation.
- lowvendor lock in
Credits do not roll over, so unused paid capacity is lost each cycle.
- data portability: moderate
Your own contacts, lists and sequence data can be exported, and records sync to CRMs. Export volume is limited by plan, and revealed data used outside Apollo is subject to Apollo's terms.
